Our Registered Duroc Pigs

Our registered Duroc pigs are the heart of our family farmstead. Each gilt is carefully bred by our boar, carrying high-quality lineage from Shipley Swine, a trusted source for strong, healthy, and well-tempered Duroc genetics. We raise every piglet with hands-on care and attention, ensuring they are friendly, personable, and ready to thrive on small family farms or larger agricultural operations.

We announce upcoming Duroc pig litters on this page. If you’d like to reserve a piglet, please reach out and specify whether you are interested in gilts (females), boars (males), or borrows. All boars will be castrated by 2 weeks of age unless requested otherwise at the time of reservation.

Why Choose a Duroc Pig?

We love Durocs because they are the perfect addition to a homestead or family farm. These medium-to-large pigs are thick-framed and muscular, with sows averaging 450–650 pounds and boars maturing between 500–750 pounds—producing a substantial freezer full of high-quality, flavorful meat.

Durocs are also exceptional breeders. Sows typically have 10 piglets per litter and are known for their excellent mothering skills, making raising piglets easier for homesteaders and farm families.

Temperament is another reason we favor Durocs. They are friendly, calm, and easy to handle, often less aggressive than other breeds. In addition to their even temperament, Durocs are strong, hardy, and healthy, capable of thriving in a variety of climates. Their cold-hardiness is especially beneficial for farms in Central New York.

With their combination of size, hardiness, excellent mothering, and personable temperament, Duroc pigs are an ideal choice for small family farms, homesteads, or larger operations alike. Be sure to reach out to reserve your piglet and stay up to date on our upcoming litters.
